smiling beauty

 smiling beauty
the soft tender lips of shyness
that smiled when i saw it coming least

in the midst of remote happiness
 of couples not connected
 her bounty shone forth

 in great joy i reacted
 in amazement was i refreshed
 when i pondered life’s possibility

i considered the folly of romance
and realized the reality of beauty
 when it is expected least

 and seen as never before
was the red in her lips as her buck teeth
 shone forth in ample hesitation

 held back inside
caught unawares in the instinct so
 uncommon to a female
